Does anyone know anything interesting about humans that they might have noticed recently? I've noticed that humans are not trustworthy, will make profit out of everything (even the death of Rosa Parks encited mp3 downloads from apple.com!!), and finally that we all find humor in other peoples' misery. |

Well... For some of this stuff, it pertains to a country specifically, but here are the all-human behavioral stuffs: That being different, or doing something that's not harmful in anyway whatsoever, but is not normal, that person must be teased and made fun of instead of being recognized as a creative person, or something like that. USA only: That we're so lazy that Albertson's and McDonalds are making home deliveries X_X Japan only: They have a fetish for cute stuff... |

McDonalds has a HOME DELIVERY!! Are you serious?!? I suppose they can make us fat faster while keeping their employees fit, huh? That's funny and sad at the same time. Japan also has panties in public vending machines. |

O_O;; Panties in vending machines...? Who would need that? well, I can think of some perverted reasons, but not any real ones. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, considering that they have dresses that have a picture of panties, or even a thong, complete with legs and everything, on the back of the dress. Doing so, it looks like a clear dress. When I saw a picture of one, I was like "DANG! Who would wear a clea-- oh, never mind. No wait, it's still weird!" |

ROQ is right about the panties in vending machines only it was a short lived phenomena. Young girls down to Jr high and younger make spending money selling their used panties in bura Sera shops. Here are some references. http://photomann.com/japan/machines/bizarrex.jpg Panty vending machine picture http://www.snopes.com/risque/kinky/panties.htm Article from Snopes http://web.archive.org/web/20040226204619/http://www.smn.co.jp/e/key/burusera.html Article from archive.org Honestly. |

That's more than a little wierd. I definitly didn't expect used panties when I first heard about the machines... In realtion to the original thread topic, this just shows how deeply perverse humans are when no one is watching. |

Humans are not really perverse it's society and their laws and conventions that make them that way. You can drink alcohol in parts of the world but not others. There are places where it is perfectly alright to have sex with a 12 year old and other places where it will land you in jail or worse. Slavery is still legal in places and is widely practiced even in the USA. Even if you look at ecchi or hentai you're perverted because you like looking at cartoon porn while it's perfectly ok to look at a Hustler magazine or rent an adult dvd to watch. There are people who think Ranger's a pervert because he married a "little girl". reference to the differences in our ages So in Japan where men have a fetish for young girls in fuku (the traditional school uniform)it's acceptable. In the UK or US that makes you a pervert. |
Re: Human Behavior

I like to believe that humans will do what they want, when they want just because it is their prerogative to do so. (Somewhere in here I confused myself and deleted a lot) People's actions start with their past experiences and their personal reactions to them. Those reactions are what I think is personality in itself. However through repetition they can change subtly(maturing) or change rapidly(snapping). This makes us very unique and versatile creatures. We can be made to think anything but just like that we can flip it all around or simply forget on a whim. Everyone has something to contribute to the world that is completely unique in itself. "We are all like snowflakes." -Lewis Black =D You can't forget that no one is better than anyone else because we are all too different to compare. But then again it is your choice to believe me or not. |

Interesting points, Wolf and Lady Rin. humans will do what they want merely because they can, and society dictates this...how sad... |

It's not sad ROQ, it just is, and that's the major problem. Society dictates how we should behave in front of others. In the classroom or public I'm Miss Todoroki or Miss Rin, schoolteacher, Outside the class room I'm Rin-chan, the same with Ranger. At work he is P-Sgt, officer or ranger (job titles). Off duty, at home he is Ranger-kun to those of us who are close and Ranger-san to others. Even though we try to maintain some sort of formality. If I cosplay in public like I do at home society frowns. Why? Because an adult, a grown-up, playing dress-up is something you only do on Halloween or in private. So if I wear a blue dress with a white apron and a ribbon in my hair like Alice in wonderland I get "crazy lady here again" on the other hand if I wear a fuku, not a word, just looks. Well, that's not true the words are things like: Hi there little girl, want a piece of candy? Hi there little girl, want to go for a ride? I never told you this, but I've had a crush on you since high school. Did it hurt when you fell out of heaven? Marines and tourists alike try to pick me up despite the fact I wear a wedding band. Even when I show it to them they persist. The only ones who don't bother me are the locals who know me and the bikers. There's your convention. It's OK to dress like a schoolgirl but not Alice. Lastly; it's alright for me to watch ER, CSI:Miami, Law and Order and other TV with blood and gore but it's not OK to watch anime simply because a lot of people think you should put away your toys and childnessish when you reach 21. |

Wow...That's interesting... People are strange huh? Kinda kinky too... With the growing popularity of anime and japanese culture in America, maybe these unsaid restrictions will disappear. American culture isn't really better than Japanese culture, and if this country is meant to be a "mixing pot" should we not be more accepting? I mean, if people can get away with foot fetishes, why can't people dresss up however they feel? |
Re: Human Behavior

Taboos will change with time. If you think about it society has become very liberal over the past 100 years or so. We have changed immensely and will continue to change. What is unlawful today may not be in the next 20 years; let's just hope we don't lean into an age of hedonism. |
Re: Human Behavior

Well, we do seem to frown on adults when they do something deemed "childish" by society. Quite frankly, I love watching animes and some of my other friends from ages 18-25 watch it with me. My mother also enjoy it when I go and visit and we watch them together. There are many things that are weird and some things that do not make sense. For example, prisoners have more room to move around than a child in a high school classroom. Children also trick or treat at malls now because of poison in the candy. It is quite odd when you sit there and think about the human race. Basically, we do what pleases us, and some go as far as hurting others just to get to what they want. Still, one has to wonder, what drives some people to do certain things. Sorry, I just did a report on the death penalty right before I saw this. I included Ted Bundy, and Charli Manson. So right now, I'm a bit shocked at what we can do to one another and not feel any remorse. I guess some people lack in the compassion department. |

"Well, we do seem to frown on adults when they do something deemed "childish" by society Why? We're going to disneyland this weekend and I plan to where one of these You can choose one if you want and I'll wear that one, I thought the the gray. Is there anything wrong with that, with any of those? I want to feel the way those look. Is there anything wrong with that? Still I hear people, including my children say "Why don't you grow up. I wear the greay and white dress fairly often in the winter. Mostly to work and no one says anything , not staff, not my students. So why does everyone else stare. Why does the way I dress make me so different? Ranger It makes Rin look cute and sexy because she's small. She and a few of her friends can get away with that speciall if it';s a conservative look (gray uniform) Only I had a though, just now. One of th emain attractions to anime is loli, HS and JrHS girls. I think it's the loli look, Rin's wearing a fuku especially the hot ones, making a loli reachable because they don't have to worry about age. I always like it when Rin wears outfits like that. It is an image the guys with trophy wives want. A guy my age with a young cutie fressed that way. We both see it. It's that Rin has fun doing it and most of the others don't, |

What's so wrong with being childish? As we age, people like to become younger, with plastic surgery, etc. Why, pray tell, is dressing differently bad? |
Re: Human Behavior
|
Why, pray tell, would you want to dress differently? I answered with a question. Is it because you think you're better than someone? Is it to try to establish a new identity apart from others? If it's suppose to suit your favor, how exactly did you come up with your fancy? Was it the way you were raised? If it were the way you were raised, then what are you trying to say about how you were taught? I've read somewhere down the line that it was society that brings up the worst in people. To that, all I'll say is; I believe the cup isn't bought dirty, it was the coffee I made that was stagnant. Yeah, most people do want to become younger as they age, with plastic surgery, ouch! Isn't it awful, though? People are forgetting what it means to fight. It's almost all shortcuts nowaday. Instead of that long five miles, it's that long five hour slice-fest. Instead of that distinguished wrinkle filled with pores and a life-time of experience, it's the stretched lifeless manikin. I dare not say that's human behavior because I'd never want to see my kids behave like that. |

In reponse to you Lith, people would want to dress freely to break out of the conformity that surrounds them. Being different is fun, and a lot better than simply following a trend or being told what to do! In a way, most humans never become themselves, and their identities are lost trying to please others. Only a few people like Lady Rin are happy to break the boundaries of the expected and do something different for a change. To those people, I say thank you! Domo Arigatou! |
