My theory on dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
simple, dreams are a collection fo previous events from memories you have had. I think that your brain is just simply geting rid of them to conserve "space" so to speak. I feel much smarter when i get up in the morning. I can remeber things that i could not the day before the dream. If you look at your dream you can see things that might have happend only yesterday or in the past. THIS IS ONLY A THEORY because sometimes my dreams are so wierd i do not know how the crap they came to be in my dream. |

Hmm... That's right, as I believe that too. And the strangeness is possibly what could have happened. Any other theories? |

i keep on asking myself why i can feel the pain of falling down or getting shot in a dream. I have never been shot so maybe my dream inputs a different sensation besides the sensation of being shot. For instance i got shot in one of my dreams and it felt like when you get hit on your funny bone really hard. One time i fell about a million stories and it felt like landing from a 6 foot drop. I don't think i have fallen a million stories so i think our brains inputs subsitutes for pain and other strangness. |

That's a really good theory... Now that I think about it, it makes sense! |

What about dreams that keep repeating themselves? I used to a couple where one I'm in a car and keep rolling down a hill in my neighborhood. I never found out what happends after. The other is where I keep flying away from something really scary that I can't save. Sometimes I get those feelings about falling down from real high. For some reason I think it's all real and then I shake awake out of fear. |

But if your brain is getting rid of them, how come you can sometimes remember what happens in your dream when you wake up? |

I think i know what both Young kai and Mei is talking about. I have several dreams where i continually go back to some haunted house to win some game show. I believe that tramatic experiences are repeated because YOU do not want to forget them. They don't even have to happen to you. You can hear about it or think about it. Since you keep on thinking about it you repeat it in a dream. I also believe that you experience your dream and your dream ends up getting remembered by you when you wake up. BUT!!!! YOU ALWAYS EVENTUALLY FORGET UNLESS YOU WRITE IT DOWN!!!! Even if i do remember it i always forget more and more when i try to remember it. luckily your post have changed my theory some I THINK I SHOULD REVISE MY ORIGINAL THEORY!!! INSTEAD OF GETTING OUT OF YOUR BARAIN MAYBE IT JUST RECEDES to the back of your thought train. |

I like my dreams because I haven't had very many of them. =( Even if they could be considered nightmarish or profound I like all of them. I thought this little theory up with buddy. We have conscious and subconscious thought. Kinda like a computer, dreams are our minds converting conscious thought into subconscious thought or vica versa. So that's why we never really understand our dreams afterward or we understand them all too clearly. Our brain doesn't recognize the now turned subconscious thought because we are trying to read the thought with our conscious thought reader or the opposite can happen. You can never fit a square peg into a circle hole without losing the edges. =P |

don't you just it when you think so much your brain hurts? good theory |

I love the point where you've taken a thoery as far as you can go without breaking some invisible barrier. It's like we aren't meant to understand some things bc we just don't have the mental capacity to do so. It makes me feel tingly. |

Have you ever noticed how in Sci-Fi, the year 2000 was gonna have cool looking metal and concrete ronded buildings and robots? We have robots, we have technology better than some of the older people ever thought imaginable. But our homes and buildings still stay the same. Maybe your brain works in the same way... You can learn new things and rewire yourself and stuff, but we will never understand dreams. |

I know that nobody really understands dreams but, has anyone ever tried? Like, do yall know of some person who has actually tried to understand dreams? I know some scientists have tried to learn more about dreams but they are more worried, in my opinion, on things that can't be fixed. Maybe it's not that we can't understand them, but that nobody has actually tried to. |

I remember when one of my teachers asked us what we thought dreams really were a) dreams are opposite of reality b) dreams are secret wants and desires c) dreams tell you of your future most of my classmates answered B... and i somewhat agree... I also remember someone told me that when you have a dream, your mind isn't resting... that's why when you're mentally exhausted, you don't have a dream... and also we can remember only less 5% of our dream when we wake up. hehehe... these things aren't MY theory... it's what people have been telling me... just thought about sharing it... |

I wouldn't consider myself that big of a thinker and I still don't dream very much. |
Re: My theory on dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we aren't suppose to understand our dreams ; sometimes we see an invention and wonder how did they come up with that? Maybe we just have to wait till some genius finds the answer to the mystery of dreams. |

I had prophetic dreams before... I dreamt that my teacher cancelled an after school lesson and it really happened the next day. People also say if you want your dreams to come true do not tell anyone. If they are nightmares, say it out. 届ã‹ãªãã¦ã‚‚ 追ã„ã‹ã‘㦠|

When I dreamed about something.. n still remember it once I woke up, usually it might be a dream about something that I'm obsess with at that current time. If I don't remember that dream, then... well, I can't talk about it, cause I didn't remember it!!! |
Re: My theory on dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you study on your bed, and put the book that you just studied about under your bed, you'll still remember the things in the book for that. |
Re: My theory on dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you dream about studying? Usually it is the insinificant things that you dream about. |

I have felt physical reprecussions from a dream. My legs were aching when I woke up yesterday. Then again I ran the day before but it was only 3 miles and some sprint work. They shouldn't have hurt like that. Still my bro tells me sometimes my legs twitch like a dog when I'm dreaming. I don't believe him but my legs still ached like hell. |
