My theory on time!!!!!!!!
|
I believe time is just cells and atoms growing older. I believe that you can only go so far or so few in time. If you go to far you'll die because your cells grow too old compared to the ratio of new cells coming into your body. Unless some cell producing outside force is implemeted you could only go so far. If you go back too far in time your cells would be premature and probaly function wrong. You could only go so far enough into the past until the time the cell producing outside force was built. Otherwise you'll die. I don't believe in the theory that if you screw someting up in the past the future is changed. I also don't believe in the theory that you can revive some one by going into the past because cells can not reanimate no matter how far back in time you go. |

Time is messed up, depending on your perspective it can go fast or slow. Scientists don't really know exactly what time is or even if time isn't just a figment of our imagination but they have decided to give it a measurement and are contented with that. So I live my life "moment" to "moment" leaving time as a dismissable constant that in my eyes can be considered nothing at all. |

I don't even think time can be changed so radically as speeding up or going back. Time travel has been done before, and is being done constantly. It was hypothesized that if you go really fast, time slows down. So some people went on an airplane and when they got off, time was different for them by like 0.00001308 seconds or something like that. Unnoticeable, but proving that you can go slower in time. |

You're both wrong. I wouldn't even accept thoses theories on an exam. Time is an invention of the Swiss to sell watches. |

No, I'm dead serious. It happens, although it's such a small amount that it's not even noticeable. I saw it on Nova, saw them do the experiment, saw the results, listen to them talk on the'r plane, saw their funky timer thing, I saw it all. It happened, and I'm dead serious. |

Hahahaha, that joke caught me completely off guard. And go Nova! I love that show. |

I never heard of that expirement, I may have to check on that. I like Rin's answer, and I heard that many times. With time travel, the whole thought process could not make any logical sense. Say if someone actually built a time machine. If that person were to go into the past, change it, then come back to the future it would become a huge mess. For example, let's say this guy became a president. This means, when he went to the past he became president, but by changing the past, it must have been intended, so while he was growing up and reading history books he saw himself as a president because he went to the past and changed it. But that would mean he did not change the past and only lived life normally and that would also mean that everyone lives predestined lives. It is quite a weird orthodox. I only responded to this after hearing the whole traveling into the past and future only a little while. Also while moving in time, that would mean things would de-evolve and matter forward. So this would come and play as the present is in a time stop and nothing is moving. However, people cannot just cease to exist, or matter stop moving while you can move. Time can only move forward. Oh my, I seem to be rambling again, let me find an easier way to explain my weird explanation. People cannot move into the past or future, because that would mean predestination would be true. Also, if a person were to travel in the past or future, the people in the present would cease to exist, and no person can just vanish like that. So time is just a moving progress that no one can alter. Well we can alter it, since we did make it up after all. Which makes RIn's theory correct. =D |

I just did this in Physics class today. According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, a person that is moving really fast will age slower than a person at rest. The equation is: T = T*/ the square root of (1- v2/c2) “ T “ is the time experienced (in years) by the subject at rest “ T* “ is the time experienced by the subject in motion “ v2 “ is the velocity of the subject in motion, squared “ c2 “ is the speed of light, squared (c = 300 000 000 meters per second) Ex// S-a-c-h-i-e-l and Dudeman are good friends, but unfortunately S-a-c-h-i-e-l becomes an astronaut and Dudeman just sits around all day. One day S-a-c-h-i-e-l flies into space in a rocket ship that is moving at a velocity of 200 000 000 m/s. Dudeman just relaxes in his chair. 5 years later, S-a-c-h-i-e-l’s rocket ship lands in Dudeman’s front yard and the 2 friend greet each other. Dudeman has aged 5 years since their last meeting, how much has S-a-c-h-i-e-l aged? Now we plug in the numbers T = T*/ the square root of (1- v2/c2) 5 = T*/ the square root of (1- {200 000 000} squared / {300 000 000} squared) 5 = T*/ the square root of (1- 0.44444444) 5 = T*/ 0.745355995 T* = 5 x 0.745355995 T* = 3.727 Dudeman has aged 5 years, while S-a-c-h-i-e-l has only aged 3.727 years. (Sorry if its confusing, I can’t write equations out on the computer) This theory has actually been tested. NASA has put nuclear clocks onto several of its spaceships. Nuclear clocks are very accurate. Anyway, after the trip into space and back, the clocks were behind by the exact amount that this equation said they would be.
