Hello Rin,
This may be vague, but any Castlevania (a vampire videogame series. check bluelaguna.net) song is great for this.

"gravity" from Wolf's Rain works with dancing...Also, "memory" from Cowboy Bebop is good too, but short(only about 1:30 min.)...

Music from most final fantasy games works too...

"Garden of Everything" from Rahxephon is a good slow dance song, although it might not be ballroom music.

Not sure if any of this helps, but hope it does! ^-^!

I was thinking the same for the waltz for the moon from FF8 but, I need a concrete suggestion since I can't just dload them all since I'm on dial-up... that's really slow. ^^

PS: I've noticed that you're suggestions may be jpop/j-music...
I just wanna avoid that since not all of my classmates want japanese words in the play.. ^^ can you help me by telling w/c ones are instrumental?

Let's see...From Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, "Tower of Mist" and "Requiem for the Gods" are wonderful ballroom music.

"memory" from Bebop is instrumental, "gravity" has english vocals. "Garden of Everything" is mostly english, with a japanese/english chorus.

Oh yeah, "One Winged Angel" from FF7 is wonderfully dramatic music that fits a dark play or a somber play!

Also, actually Classical music may be best, like "Romance in F" by Beethoven, "Nocturne in B Flat Min." by Chopin.

Finally, "Suiten Fur Violoncello", "Rei(I,II,III)","Kanon D-Dur (Strings Orchestra)", "Mother is the First Other", "Expansion of Blockage", and "The Heady Feeling of Freedom(Op Strings)" all from Neon Genesis Evangelion are PERFECT for ballroom dance!

Hope this helps!

songs from emma.

it's an anime set back in victorian times, so there's a lot of classical, waltzy type of music.

kewl, I love Evangelion songs but I haven't thought about them as ballroom music. Canon is also classical--- made by Johann Pachelbel who taught Johann Christoph (brother of J.S.Bach) who taught Johann Sebastian Bach... ^^ just info... ^^

I don't know much about ballroom music, but I must tell you that J.S. Bach's pretty awesome! I own a CD. N.Paganini's hella awesome too; possessed by a devil. =O

Why don't you try these? (I have nay idea if they're appropriate to ballroom dancing or not. Hehehe...)
:: Cembalo Concerto No. 5 in F Minor
:: Toccata and Fugue in D Minor
:: Concerto No. 1 in D Minor
:: Suite from Anna Magdalena Bach's Notebook (I can play it with my violin; I forgot if it's in the part I or II from a Suzuki Violin School Book.)

memory doesn't sound like a ball at all.
it sounds like a music box ^_______,^

Sorry 'bout that, I thought "memory" would be somber, quiet slow song, my mistake...
