My floppy disc drive is not working!!! HELP

Everytime I insert my floppy disc in the drive and try to open, it always say that I must format it. For the second time, I try to insert another brand new floppy disc, but again, I must format the floppy disk And I found out that the file system is FAT. PLS help me!!!! Thank you   |

I think the problem is with your floppy disk. Maybe it's not pre-formatted... ^^ Now, my problem is with my drive F--- cd, it doesn't detect the cd... :(    m y . L i F E . i . t r a d e . i n . f o r . y o u r . P A i N . |

Kioko_Uratsuma try your floppy disk in another drive. Also try using a known good floppy disk in it. Other Rin Do you meant it does not detect the CD automatically or not at all?  |

| Whenever you save something into a FD, it becomes FAT. Maybe your FDD is only dirty- try to clean it and it might work but I don't know if that is the answer to your problem. |

Thanks for the help!!! but still... My fd is already formatted. but it still not opening. The drive is installed. |

Optic position down.& rotor doesn't work normally, the sound pretty crowd. Buy a new one. Can't fix it, just waste time & money, & broke your data in diskette.  |

| That is the reason why I don't like FDs and FDDs, they are destroyed easily. You better buy USB Flash Drives, they are really tough and can store a lot more than FDs. Info: Did you know that a CD is more capable, more bigger memory capacity and less-prone to damage than FDs? And this is the good part: FDs are more costly than CDs. Funny huh... |

That happened to me too. Floppy Disks have so little space and so easy to broke. Your datas can be easly erased as well. Try to use USB instead. They are a bit expensive, but they last long, and stored a lot of space. Personally, I don't like CDs. You can't really erased anything there, once you write in it. Unless it's a CDRw... So in short, try to use USB FDs... and be happy about it.  |

| Yup! I agree with you. By the way, USB Flash Drives use FAT file format system too. |

| Yes, it is possible, as long as you have enough slots and your RAM can handle it. have 2 CD drives- one a CD-ROM and the other one is a Burner. |

| Yes, it is possible, you just have to buy the thing called "external burner" or "external CD ROM." You'll just plug it in your CPU then off you go! But they cost a lot, really. |
