FFVI is without a doubt my favorite RPG because it had the best storyline of the FF series, and it had my favorite villian of all time, Kefka. |

My alltime fave, would be FFVI. The best story ever. Kingdom Hearts is a good RPG, with real-time battle system. Currently playing... none. Still waiting for KH2. ![]() |
Re: RPG

...seeing as though everyone is goin FF now, i'm shiftin to chrono trigger. Also adding in Xenogears for awesome mech action and Lunar:Silver Star Story for the "save the world and the girl" crap
someone once told me the world is divided with two people:
those who are dead and those bound in an eternal cycle to free the dead ...but with no avail...

hmmm favorite rpg...damn I have a lot. Golden Sun, I can't help it those games were great, and chrono trigger, super mario rpg was an awsome game as well, and uh the lesser known Baten Kaitos so pretty ^^ oh yeah ToS. Valkeryie Profile = great rpg with tons of cool moves and characters. :D |
Re: RPG

UnseenDeath, the problem isnt dragging the series too far, the problem is the story. FFX and FFX-2 were very disappointing because their stories werent good, even though they had good graphics. FFVIII and Fallout 1&2 series are my faves |

Re: RPG

Hmm...the Lunar series was great, and so was the Wild Arms series (can't wait to get Alter Code: F for x-mas, and 4th Detonator next year ^.^) Other rpgs I enjoy are: -Fire Emblem series -Golden Sun series -FF series -ToP, ToS -Chrono Trigger -Star Ocean series -Skies of Arcadia ..And that's about all I can really think of ^^; I just love them because of the storylines and character/character development within the games ^.^

Valkyrie Profile,Tales of Destiny 2, FFT and Legend of Mana Sure, I like FF and some turn-based RPG's but sometimes it can get tiresome ^_^

This kind of thread is repetitive... Ah well, I'd highlight my most fave...FF9. It's simply the best. |
Re: RPG

Lufia, because it's a nice, simple game with a good storyline.

Wild Arms. It was my first RPG and totally blew me away with the story line and deeply developed characters. I loved the whole semi-wild west theme and innovative switching ability. And for just one disc you got plenty to keep you going! And NONE of the characters annoyed me! Legend of Dragoon would be my second fav. Bloody thing reduced me to tears. *sniffle* Loved the timing reaction battle system. Certainly kept me on my toes and I really enjoyed the killer twists in the story. Breath of Fire III gets a mention for the fact it never gave you a simple solution. You really had to EARN it. eg-You need a guy to help but he wants a fish dinner. Do you get a dinner from a handy near-by inn? NO! You go find PARTS for a fishing rod, learn to fish, spend ages fishing for the right damn fish, go find a chef to TEACH you how cook the fish, spend AAAAAAAGES trying to get the right ingredients for the recipe to cook the fish, endure a mini game of COOKING FISH...THEN you go back and give it to your fussy eating guy. Man, you really feel like you get your money's worth in THAT game!:D

Wow, MsTree... haven't heard from you ever since you last posted. ^_^ There's nay doubt that you've liked it as it was your first RPG. As for me, it was FF8... but unfortunately, I was dissatisfied. I did not like it, not until FF9 came out. Well, I liked FF7 too even though I played it just after the 8th and 9th. Chrono Cross's my 2nd fave, Suikoden 1 & 2, etc. ::Wild Arms:: I'm trying to get a copy of it, but I did get my hands on the 2nd one. (Have you?) The 2nd is actually fun, then you mentioned the semi-wild west theme; yup it's something new. None of the characters annoyed me as well, though it's a trend, or rather, usual for magic users to be vulnerable to physical attacks, but their MDEF are just outstanding (i.e. Lilka, Tim). Otherwise would apply to HI-hit-packed characters like Ashley and Brad. The weapon reloads and upgrades are pretty much like that of FF9's synthesis, although I just wished that their weapons get a new look in-between battles. I like the way how Brad would throw pineapples in mid-air, launch missiles, grenades, etc. =P ::Legend of Dragoon:: I think I made a post about this, about a month or so. Yeah, here it is. I have to point out that it's so damn hard to level up! Equipments are damn expensive, and you only have limited inventory for items. =P ::Breath of Fire III:: Then again, I wasn't able to play it fully, only on the first part. But the 4th one, aye. I know the feeling of having to EARN EVERYTHING! from scratch. XD But you need to cook stuff, actually it's different and harder as well. This certain guy (I couldn't remember, but he claims himself a PROFESSIONAL and thinks that you're not worth helping for unless you meet his standards) needs certain kinds of fish before he gives you help. =/ He gives you a list, and it's your job to search for them ALL OVER THE WORLD (MAP)! Luckily, I was able to find them all. --_--;; And just liked what you've said. ALL WORTH THE MONEY SPENT ON THAT GAME! XD If you've tried Suikoden, there're money problems there. But I'm sure you'll do fine, you're already immune to those problems! XD |
