I'd just like to say...Xenogears is the greatest! I can actually discuss it here! (i guess...) All the other forums i go to (unless specifically about Xenogears) have basically never played it =( What are you're thoughts? *WARNING* Any bad comments about this shall be punished severely! |

Finally someone who is on the same page as myself!!!!! To me this is the best RPG (next to Final Fantasy IV) i've ever played and remains still as one of my all time faves. Everything about this game is a masterpiece...though i would have like the 2nd disc to be not as linear as it was.Yasunori Mitsuda's soundtrack rivals (maybe surpasses) anything Uematsu-san does.It's a shame we won't get to see it remade since this is episode V in the Xeno franchise...though it may still happen...you never know. The battle system was fun as hell....why they didn't keep it for Xenosaga is beyond me.The characters & story (more on this later) are memorable...though the dubbing COULD be better...tough battles...this is not an easy game.... great gameplay....graphics were not as good compared to FF VII which came before it...but that didn't stop it from being a classic. Which brings me back to the story...cudos to the developers to add religious themes to it...taking a chance.It'll take forever to dissect it piece by piece...if you played it you'll know what i'm talking about. I'll leave it at that for now...let others have their say....I'LL BE BACK...  |

Yes! Finally! I agree about the second disc being a bit too linear, all you basically could do was follow whatever it was doing! (although i'm not truly complaining lol, it's too good for that). And yes, the soundtrack is awsome too! (i've got both discs, burnt but still...) I'd love to see it get remade as well. Although the graphics could have been better when they made it, i also feel that they fit with the game (don't really know why...just do lol) but you should visit www.xgam.org and go to there forums (theres a thread about remaking it if you're interested). Religion was basically what the game was about...without it, it just...wouldn't be Xenogears, it would be some cheap game that no one would enjoy. But i agree thats it's also too vast too disect. You just have to play the game a couple of times, thats all (about 10 or so lol). My favourite character is Emerelda by the way lol. She's just so awsome! And she can grow up! Who's your's? |

Told you I'LL BE BACK...though it's a lot sooner than i expected...ehe^^ I think the linear 2nd disc is the main thing that kept it from being perfect....when it was first released it should have gotten perfect reviews...they crammed so much into the first disc the second your basically reading text for the most part with Fei & Elly sitting in a chair while a pendant swings back & forth...^^...Its all GOOD! I did hear that those religious themes almost prevented it from being released outside of Japan....but again cudos to Squaresoft for taking a chance. 10x's..lol...that's alot....my timer is hitting 200 hours...lol. Near the end of the game my party is usually Fei...Emerelda...& Citan...did you get Citan's strongest sword?...the Mumyo Sword....it gets dropped by the Black Dragons at "Duneman Isle".Yeah it's neat that Emerelda can grow up...in fact her whole storyline is sweet. In the beginning i was hooked on Elly (she cute)....but unfortunately you can't use her for the whole game so i guess....Citan is my fave....i love his Deathblows...especially his last 4 (festive wind/rumble earth/haze of fire/crystal water)...AWESOME!...all the characters (playable/non-playable) are unforgettable! Ramsus is a badass! |

lol, i've 100% completed the game so many times i can't really count them lol. (By the way, when you can fly around at the end, if you go back to Citans house near Lahan, and talk to the side of repaired music box, theres a message to Emerelda from Kim!) And you can use Elly throughout the game, just not as much as some characters lol, or bascially when Fei's not around. My main 'End of Game' party is Fei/Emerelda/Citan or Elly (sometimes Billy). My main problem with the second disc was the text. Although it furthers the story, it goes on forever! And the part where Fei and Id join (or 'Awaken') just takes WAY too long! *shakes head* Ramsus...hey just never gave up...that crazy little man lol. Well, i'm off for the night (well, at least halk an hour) because GitS: Stand Alone Complex is on. (This is an Edit by the way...most of my posts have them lol) |

Ok, I can see myself at Frost-Heart... so full of energy and vigor. XD (That's whenever I'd talk about a game that I have truly known, mastered, and deemed... so far, only in two of the FF9 threads, or maybe there were 3 Obviously, there is not a bit of love for that game ~tear~ Hahahah...) Well, I would have to agree! Dissers should be severely punished! >=D (I think after my posts from those threads, nay one dared to reply... I'm still waiting though!) Going back to the discussion... aye, Citan's one of the strongest to recruit; a very helpful friend who can deal a lot of damage to enemies while he can also heal his comrades at the same time. Elly was a bit of a nuisance (gomen, Izumo-san). The Champion (forgot his name) is so-so, Bart is awesome! Billy's ok, I guess... and Emerelda's kawaii!!! ^.^ And so is CHU-CHU!!!! Suteki desu! =D This 2D game fascinated me, from the very beginning where you control Fei in his hometown... I think it was deja vu... the place was kind of familiar. Then I thought of Chrono Cross! His hometown is not that far from the concept of Arni Village, Serge's hometown! I could very well tell! One example would be the concept of the large fish that this certain man had from his store (just like the man who was bragging about the large fish/shark that he caught in CC)... there's a little girl too, cats, etc. The turn-based battles are cool; it's where you can execute different combos with different characters (like Legend of Legaia). Funny thing is that you can stomp on people's head... XD I mean, step on them. Hahaha, they wouldn't mind anyway. ::Gripes:: The controls are really sensitive; when you jump from here to a platform, it doesn't get steady, if you know what I mean. He/she'll probably fall, then you have to re-jump again. The L1/R1; L2/R2 buttons (forgot what you use for rotation) make me dizzy... lol. Ah well, I'm just recalling things since I haven't played this game for a while... never even finished it because of stupid Shakkan. Hahaha.. I have yet to defeat that cheating fiend! Err.. Rasmus's the annoying guy with the whip right? He has one hell of a fatal blow! Luckily, he can only use it once. =( P.S.: I would have to post more... this kind of thread usually eats up the time. XD |

I love all SquareEnix game... huh it was SquareSoft that developeed Xenogears. Anyways, this game rocks as much as Final Fantasy. However the second Cd was...hum hum. *Going to say a stupid thing* Boring~ Yea you have to listen to a long speech with first Elly then Fei... for a long time Zzzzzzzzz. Well putting that aside, this game is great I play it two times~ |

I finished that game last 2 years ago!! Bwahahahahaha!! Hmmm.. I really think that Xenogears is the BEST GAME THERE IS! Next to Valkyrie Profile for me.. I really wish that Xenogears has a part 2, I like the story, Gameplay, Animation, and everything, I really missed Elly, Damn my PS one broke, I can't play Xenogears! Hahahahaha.. If only xenogears were made in in this time, I wonder how awesome xenogears would be?!! I wish too that they remake it!! Awww forgot.. my favorite character is Elly!! Bwahahaha!! And the coolest gear is Xenogears!! I like Fei's fatal blows.. specially Yamikei.. There was another thing that makes me like Xenogears but I really don't know what it is? Is it the subtle and sad background, the story or both? There is really something about Elly that I like but I can't figure it out what it is... WHAT ON EARTH!! THE LAST REPLY WAS TWO YEARS AGO!!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!  Curses! I'm too cute to the core. |
