i know how that is. before my hard drive went and broke down on me (the 1st time), i kept telling myself that i would at least burn all the anime/songs/important files i had onto cds. but noooooo. i had to be lazy and kept putting it off. now that my hard drive had to go and be repleaced for a 2nd time (good thing i didn't have much saved on my drive this time), i'm going to make sure to burn my stuff onto cd from now on. or with all this xmas money i have, i can buy an external hard drive finally. |

Heheeh! Of course, I keep my anime safe!! It took me a long time to download all the songs!!! >_< |

I've burned over 400 dvds. I filled up my 3 binders and have to go buy another one. Plus the computer room where my anime sleeps is the cleanest place in my house. However I am very bad at oraganizing my anime. |

well. my father's complaining about the excessive cds i've used up and the excessive binders. ^^ and if the disks happen to be corrupted or anything, i can always copy from my friend. we each have a copy of all the stuff we've downloaded you see ^^ so i guess it'll be relatively safe >< |

Our anime is divided up between the a temporary DL drive, permanent storage and a RAID1 backup. Neither of us like having a million DVDs around the house and having to search through them to find something. As with anything on the network it's a simple search to find what I want. Currently there is over 150gb of anime alone. There are also movies from Archive org, 30gb of music, 20gb of AMVs and a lot more. Total at this timethere is a half a terrabygte of online storage with more planned. The network has all multimedia on llarge drives that do not hold programs or anything else that can carry a virus since most viruses work on the drive they are installed on. That provides a form of protection and everything is backed up to a RAID backup system. Sonic Decoder there is a way to recover the data. Ranger has done it more than once when an HD has crashed. |

"Bloody hell jomunga u hv so much anime!!! Or not all of them r anime?" No, they are all anime. The 3 binders have 208 slots each, some are cds though. I also have a lot of purchased DVDs. Recently I have just been downloading anime, burning it, and not watching it. I am so backed up with anime to watch its frustrating. |

I put my anime in a steel box chained to my bed and a combination lock on it.

Why do you DL it then not watch? What's the point? We DL chapters as we watch and get rid of most of them if they're not keepers although we do have a few. There is enough online so we have a variety to watch and can watch a single series over 2-4 weeks. I want more drive space. Me want 4x250-300gb Seagate drives. Gonna build one hell of a raid server make a triple redundant RAID1/0 or RAID5 server. |

subwei,u really protect ur anime eh? for now,i would burn all the downloads..even today,my mom n i are going out to buy more cds..hahhaaa...as there r two computers at home,so my bro n i usually divide the files..when the D files are getting crowded,my dad's gonna complain abt it.n i sort of do the organizing tasks n stuffs..oh we really keep all our stuffs protected.we're kinda possessive,so especially me,i get irritated if somebody i'm not used with touch my anime collection so carelessly.hahahaa... |

Its there so I can watch it for later. If I ever decide to start a new anime, I don't have to wait a week for it to finish downloading. It's actually quite convienent. And I don't really have to worry about hard drive space like this. |

But of course! They're like earthly possessions which I would be showing my kids/grandkids when I get old. XD |

Before, I kept them on HDD because I was too lazy to dig CDs & DVDs. When I wanted to watch sequence from something, by the time I dug up CD I didn't want to watch it anymore. I prefered 'one-click-plays-anime' until 120GB HDD crash. Then I started to burn. A LOT. Second reason : I came to local anime forum gathering with HDD full of stuff, and then I realised that I have only standard stuff that everybody else already have, and because I didn't have backup at home and my HDD was full, I couldn't take part in stuff like : -'Here, man, I have 100GB of new stuff' -'Oh, thanx, here's 50 GB for you' (everybody showed up with 120 & 200 GB HDDs full of anime, some people even brought their computers to speed up transfer).

i'm glad to know that i'm not the only one who's downloading anime and not watching them... >< i guess it's got something to do with the fact that the moment one anime comes in, another pops up... so far, i've got at least 5 series waiting for me to watch... >< great... i just reminded myself... i'm considering buying myself a safe to store all my cds/vcds inside... |
