I wonder why...........
|
When your head gets chopped off you're still alive for eleven seconds(world record) Why your b l o o d is blue on the inside and red on the outside. Why the desert is hot in the day but freezing at night. Why glue doesn't stick to the inside of the container. Why people have highly evolved intellegences and still commit s uicide. Why no word ryhmes with orange. Does anyone know the answers? |

I can answer the blood one. There's a specific chemical in your blood that reacts with oxygen the oxygen in the atmosphere. But because blood is not oxidized in the veins (if it was you wouldn't be alive) it is teh color blue, but once it comes in contact with the air there's a chemical reaction changing the color to red. I'd go into more detail but I don't remember it word for word from my health book, sorry. I have some other questions to ponder though. Why do most people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat has appeared? Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Why is it that no matter what color bubble soap you use the bubbles are always white? And why are steralized needles used for death by lethal injection?

to kotuso 1. your nervous system still caries a charge and the spine has built-in reflex responses so that it takes less time for, oh, lets say somone suprises you with an axe and intends to proceed to lop your head off. your spine takes control. 2. the reason the blood in you body "appears" "blue" is that all of the tissue around your primary ateries and veins are semi-translucent (they allow light to pass though them) so the "blood" you see is really just a shadow of the veins/arteries 3. This question varies on what you are defining by a desert, A. a area of low precipitation or B. a arid/semi-arid area of land that also has a high mean temperture. Answers:A. places like the arctic and antarctic are considdered to be desserts and their cold all the time. B.that lack of an inslative cloud cover combined with the low specific heat and radiative properties of rock and sand result in the radiation of heat at rapid levels and the minimal absorbtion of that heat. as a result it hot at day (no cloud albeito, low heat absoption of groun-high air temp., and lack af a thermal regulating body of water) and vold at night (low/none cloud insulation, rapid radiation of heat energy from ground, lack of a thermal regulating body of water) 4. To ask this question you miss a greator conundrum, why would we do so many things that we know are harmful to us, to put in your terms, love, why do we love. it's because we feel that at that time it is the best thing for us at that time. 5. I dont know ask the creator of pnumonia and pnumatics. to angel 1. Why play a game, why listen to a song, or why look at an old photo. it's because you are search for something that you might have missed the last time you looked. 2. To fully understand the answer i'm about to give you i must say that the kamakazie pilots were bound by a system of honor (if you have studied anchient Japan you learn that their history is very cyclic) that stated that should die honorably in battle. Knowing this you can make the conclusion that they would try not to die and to quote the answer to kotuso's question about suicide they did what thought was best at the time. 3. it has to do with the way the light refracts though and off the bubbles. the light rays enter the bubble and the bubble acts as a prism seperating the light into the familiar rainbow, the size of the bubble dictates what colors you can see (large=rainbow small=little/no color=white) also the bubble reflects it's surroundings, if your shower is white what color will the bubble reflect? 4. they don't make non-sterilized neddles. they are the same ones thay use for just bout every type of hypodermic injections. plus it's against standards and practices. hope that answers your questions and befor you ask i read alot as a child, and it's all up there somewhere, i'm sure school had nothing to do with it. Oh aand i watched every bill nye the sience guy show ever made. |

You missed one, ninja! *ahem* Glue only dries when it has exposure to air, partly the reason why it's so much easier to get glue out of a new bottle than an old one ^_^ That head-chop-off one... I didn't even know that ^_^; |

It may be a cliché, but it's very true. Every day, just think if you've learned something new... it's been true to me for the past... 6 months? As long as I've been keeping track X_X |
