Here's the intro. Just found this site. Awesome! Must give it up for Gendou. Thanks. Any one out there into classic anime music, 70s and 80s? Captain Harlock? Area 88 OVA (not the tv)? Queen Millennium? Galaxy Express? Dallos? Urusei Yatsura? Iczer One? Megazone? Old Tatsunoko shows? I noticed not much in the way of old school in the request form. If anyone wants some older tracks put it down in the request form. I may have it. Then again, I don't go that far... I've friends who's into old Astro Boy and Marine Boy and Kimba and Raideen and God Mars, etc. I'm not that far back. Some like Dallos and Windaria and Xabungle are of course not on CD but on vinyl or cassette.... have to bust out the old equipment from the attic if I were to convert them to mp3, just for preservation's sake. But upload is not working right now so may be some time later. Thanks again.

Define classic anime... hmmm... how about shows before the internet, digisubs etc., when fansubs weren't all that common, and most anime activities were relegated to trading of 13th gen copies of raw between anime clubs. Some of the music from that time is awesome. I still listen to them on old cassette tape recordings from time to time (the vinyls I save). Examples: 1. Dallos (the horn sections are out of this world... reminescense of a bit of the op theme of Najica) 2. Iczer One (by the same master who did the original themes of Mazinger and Getter Robo. Best battle music bar none) 3. BGM of the original Area 88 OVA (none of that techno Bach rip off today), and Legend of Bari Bari. Horn heavy again. 4. Symphonic scores and songs from Galaxy Express (tv) and Queen Millennium. And of course Harlock, esp. My Youth in Arcadia. 5. Themes from Blue Sonnet 6. Songs from To-y the OVA. Cool urban J-pop from the late 80s without the disco or club sound. 7. Songs featuring children's choir. I.e. Backups in various Getter robo and other giant robot shows in the 70s, and definitely songs from the 80s anime Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro, probably one of the best example of anime/manga of the indigenous Japanese culture by the great Mizuki Shigeru, who started it all along side with Tezuka. I could go on, but I'll just bore people. I guess it's hard to care of anime music if you hadn't seen the anime. Same goes I.
