Help me!

Hello. (oh my god) Im from Finland and i want to learn speak Japanese. Im not good at speaking or writing english, thats why i hope that everybody understand what i mean.. If you are from Japan or some other "place" (and you speak english..), please tell me a place where i can learn Japanese OR IF YOU WANT, you can maybe teach me. I know, that sounds so stupid.. If you're learning English, you probably understand just how hard studying a language is. You may be able to teach yourself some if you have large amounts of dedication, but often people lack the work ethic. I don't know how it works in Finland, but if its available, nothing beats out taking a course at a community college. Here in the US they allow any one from high school on up enroll part time to take classes like Japanese and often high schools give school credit for the extra class. If your older, its never too late to enroll in a night course. If that is just not an option, I would recomend buying a book, and work through that, setting up for yourself a schedule as if you were in a real class. That will help you keep on track. As for what book I would use, I would recomend Genki I, its workbook and its CD, available from anywhere like Amazon, half.ebay, etc. Once you learn the basics, you buy yourself a good dictionary or use any of the resources available online and teach yourself from the vast amounts of Japanese texts available online.

I think you should only learn another language if you're really, really serious about it. From what I've read, Akita, you seem really serious about learning Japanese. I'm learning Japanese myself. You could find books on how to learn the language, or get a computer software to teach you. Well, I'm taking special courses and using a computer software ... Anyway, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. I'm definitely not fluent in Japanese, but I'm still learning! Learning a completely different language is never easy, especially something more complex like Japanese. But if you really, really want to learn Japanese, then never give up. |

| Go to the computer and search for some kind of Japanese learning links and you might find what you need!! If you are in America, you should go to learning class and learn about English, if you don't, you will have a very hard time understanding and speaking English in America! As you can tell, there are a lot English people there! If you are very very very serious about learning Japanese, go to a Japanese tutor! ^_^ |
