Any old skool anime you liked when you saw it?? I kinda miss the way they make em - not all cell shaded and sometimes too CG'd.... I loved: Guyver Daimos DevilMan Angel Cop Megazone 23 Oedo 2013?? I cant quite remember the title.... I might be alone at this. ^w^*

I love older anime especially series from the golden age (Early 80's to Mid 90's, some of my favorites include Lupin III Tv series 2 Ranma 1/2 Dragonball (The Original not Z or GT) Mobile Suit Gundam Aura Battler Dunbine Akazukin Chacha Maison Ikkoku Akira Captain Harlock Galaxy Express 999 Tenchi Muyo OVA They Were 11 Sailor Moon Macross/Southern Cross/Mospedia (The 3 series that were edited to make Robotech) Grave of The Fireflies My Neighbour Totoro Nausica of the Valley of the Wind. I could go on for pages but then again thats why it was called animes Golden Age.

I agree that most of the Ghibli stuff rocked... I can also remember animes like astroboy... the remake sux... There was also something called super book which Im sure was anime.

old skool means circa 1970-early 80's. Anime has progressed and evolved through the years. Computer shell shading did not exist before and there werent a lot of computer graphics and effect put in place. Before the anime of Gonzo and studio IG.... Anime was hand drawn and colored by hand cell by cell. So you'd think old skool just means that -- old anime that doesn't use any computer help. I know Ghibli has only used a little here and there but everything is still hand made - that's why all Ghibli animation still have charm and it feels like people have gone through a lot just so they can share a story.... I hope this explains better than just saying old skool... (its a hip hop term I just used) Wakaru?

Lupin the 3rd: The Castle of Cagliostro, in my opinion it would have to be the best in the Lupin series. It had almost everything in it, Good animation even thought it was made during 1979 and it could even be compared to the animation these days. Music that creates the atmosphere and attracts the audience. It had an interesting storyline. The typical hero saves the lady It was homorous. The action scenes were good, and unlike most of the others in the Lupin series, it actually had character development.

Seeing we are limiting it to the 70's and early 80's. I had to go check the dates of the one I wanted to say. Urusei Yatsura - Started in the early 80's. This is my favorite Rumiko Takahashi(she also did Ranma, Inuyasha, and Maison Ikkoku) series. "Please stop the world so I can get off" - Sasahara(Genshiken)
