its a remake/spoof of the Kurosawa film 'seven samurai' see the film first!

"merchant" is just what they call the evil robots in the anime, in the kurosawa movie it was bandits. that is basically what the "merchants" are, too. warriors turned bandits. this is an idea that actually comes from japanese history. specifically, when samurai were outlawed, forcing some ex samurai to steal for a living.

I think it's a really clever remake of the original. Definitely fun to watch and worth seeing =D

| It's one good show ^^ which makes me like Gonzo even more ^ o ^ The scene I like best (so far) was when Kanbei fights Kyuuzou for the first time... His line "horeta..." (long paused, another sword fight) continued by "kimi no ude da na.." It's really funny (the way he cut his speech ) ^^ One of my favorite seiyuu is also in it (Paku Romi), I can ask for no more ^_^ |

Samurai who fight against Mecha, armadas, and cyborg warriors...what's not to love! :) The characters are cool, the story is a classic, a great homage to the original movie, the fact that you get to see people cut giant robots and ships in half...I mean come on! If you haven't checked it out, DO IT NOW! :) If and when it is licensed here, make sure you watch the JAPANESE VERSION FIRST, if you don't do that already. I promise, if you love samurai, it's worth it.

Loved the anime, it was great <3 adn the opening theme Unlimited was great , too!
