Is Square-Enix the best game maker in all computer game consoles? These are Square-Enix games: 1.) Final Fantasy 12 2.) Front Mission 5 3.) Kingdom Hearts 2 4.) Dragon Quest 3 5.) Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of Cerberus 6.) Star Ocean: Till the end of time 7.) Radiata Stories 8.) Children of Mana 9.) Valkyrie Profile These are the games I only know (although theres many games than that) What are your comments on Square-Enix?

one of the best game-maker in the gaming world! there's no RPG lovers who didn't know about them. i always loved their games!

I would've loved it better if they changed their name to 'Squeenix'. :P Anyway, as far as RPGs go, there isn't much competition when it comes to Square-Enix. But to answer your question, I have to say no. "All computer game consoles" is too broad a statement; they've released all their 'big' games to the PS2 exclusively.    |

Personally, I think they were better off when Squaresoft was still a separate company from Enix. However the quality of the RPGs have gone done faster than you can say "Mega-Flare". Last time, the story-lines were better e.g FF6,FFT(not the kiddy GBA version)and FF7. Now... well, you see scantily-clad girls in flashy CGI sequences. The music has gone HORRIBLE after Square started ignoring Nobuo Uematsu(F.Y.I. the guy who wrote every single music piece from FF1 to FF9). They don't know quality... (P.S sorry to FF10,FF11 and FFX2 fans but seriously if you compare these to earlier FF games, there's no competition to which is better.)

Although Square-Enix does make great games, my favorite company is Konami, primarily because I was raisde playing the Castlevania series.  |

Seriously, I didn't want the "Squaresoft" and "Enix" to unite and make the "Square-Enix". They were much better before that. Just like Ming-Chan-san said, the storylines were much better and the gameplay system was somewhat much more interesting(Yeah, the earlier FF games were waaay better than those new FF games). They just managed to improve the graphics and they just keep thinking about that. But I'm not saying that all their games are like that. There are some good games like Radiata Stories or Kingdom Hearts. Anyways, I prefer the other companies like Konami(Yeah, the Castlevania series are very good !!), Capcom, which produced great games like the Resident Evil series or Megaman series(Street Fighter too!) or Koei(the game company that produced the Dynasty Warriors series!!) Well, it depends on which genre you're talking about... |

I prefer squaresoft better.. but i guess square-enix ok too.. i love their kh and ffx  |

I agree with KKshi17, I liked it when they were square-soft, they made much better games. I havn't seen a good game come out of Square since the merger, FFX-2 sucked.    |

ahh~ squaresoft.. the good ol' days, when the games were hot n fresh. Nowadays its too focused on the Graphics more than Gameplay. -sigh- -_-;;  |

Hey, Final Fantasy XII is really great too but the characters are just simple.

I love all Square-Enix game they have 2 offer ... the most i like is their rpg game such as FF series n KH >_<

They're good, but not in everything. For example Dirge of cerberus sucks big time when it's compared to DMC in gameplay. And... do Square-Enix have fighting games? |

Square-Enix has mostly RPG's. Final Fantasy will hopefully, release soon and that's for PS2! I hope Final Fantasy 13 looks good and I hope their characters are well designed as well.

I don't really like SE. Their storylines have gone to hell after the merge. Too much focus on the shiny, not enough on the plot. I play RPGs for the stories, after all, not to be wowed by graphics. <<; There's lots of really great smaller companies who make RPGs in Japan, but since the market for RPGs in NA are dominated by SE from square one, most aren't interested in releasing here. :/

no offense, i found enix is much much better than squaresoft, so im kinda dissapointed when enix joined with squaresoft.. i personally dont like ff series(I played ff1,2,5,6,7,8,9,10 but personnaly only ff6 is good..) i love Dragon quest series (played DQ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,DQ monster 1&2,etc), Star Ocean series (played SO 1,2,3 even the game boy version) I also find quality of dragon quest decreased aftre the merge (Dragon quest 8 for sure lose out to dragon quest 7..) of course square-enix made some great games like radiata stories but I find games like ffx-2 and dirge of cerberus are not up to my standard.. |

Sad events in Squaresoft History: N. Umeatsu's departure: after that, music quality sucked worse than... Merger with Enix- Best game after merger (US release) Star Ocean 3-sadly this one was ALL Enix. Square seems to have forgtten how to make good games, I prefer Atlus and Namco for my RPG needs over Square-Enix often.

Kind of... I think it's best for them to stay with FF series... turning Full Metal Alchemist as a RPG based game does spoil the fun out of it.  |
