[edit] The title of this thread is pretty self-explanatory. What if anime was never created in this world of ours? Post how you would feel or what you would watch for one, here. ^_^

That would be hell! We won't get great animes like bleach, naruto or full metal alchemist ( there are loads more). We won't get cosplay! We won't get even amazing animators like Miyazaki! This also means that I might not get to read manga!! (>.<)  |

I have NO CLUE what I would have chosen to be obsessed with! (JK) Anywho, it WOULD lead to an entirely different lifestyle. One with much less Japanese, and probably Asian altogether, influence. 90% of what I know about Japan is from anime. That's not saying that I don't know much about Japan, that's saying there's a lot about it in anime, even anime that isn't set in Japan. What would I have been interested in? I dunno. I'd probably read a lot more. I would listen to music in English from America and Britain. I would go as...I dunno, Tinkerbell or something, for Halloween, (instead of Nurse Witch Komugi-chan -_-), and I wouldn't dress up in costumes any other days of the year. I wouldn't own a Japanese seifuku uniform. I wouldn't know ANY of the Japanese that I do now. I wouldn't draw nearly as much. I wouldn't use words like "glomp", not to mention the masses of Japanese expressions that I use. (They say that 12% of the Japaense language is made up of foreign words (most of them English), more than almost any other language in the world. I'd say that 12% or more of my everyday vocabulary is Japanese.) Most importantly, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi / Fullmetal Alchemist would never have come out, so life would be meaningless. (JK again) Which leads me to wonder, if manga/anime had never been invented, would manga-ka have been authors instead? Or artists? Or both? (Technically, a manga-ka IS an author and an artist, but, hypothetically...) |

Without anime... I would definitely read a lot more books. My eyesight would be better because I wouldn't have wasted all those hours in front of the TV or computer. I would be skinnier because I used to go outside before I discovered anime. On the plus side, I wouldn't know any of my mom's native language (Vietnamese) without anime, which gave me a vested interest in Asian cultures of all kinds. |

We would all find something to do actually. If we never knew it we would never think the world was boring. It would seem natural, jsut as a world with anime is natural. But I do agree if something happened where anime was banned I would miss it dearly.

| Anime? Banned? HAHAHA! I'D LIKE TO SEE THEM TRY!! THEY CAN'T STOP ME!! Sorry, that just struck me as really funny for some reason. That'd be the worst mistake and most broken law since Prohibition in the 20s. |

If anime was never created, I would have gotten higher grades in school. ^_^;; ahehehe Seriously, life would be boring and I would have immersed myself in reading O_O... A responsible and diligent student, imagine that! |
