Manga fans VS. Anime Lovers..
|
Why do Manga people dislike Anime soo much? I think Anime is a little better than Manga for many reasons. Sure Manga continues on the story longer than anime since its cheaper that way but, Anime has some qualities too Like 1.Sound effects 2.Voice actors 3.Pictures move 4.more Colorful 5.Good music 6.feeling of excitement in how they do scenes and act out their jokes etc. All the people I know like Manga more for some reason, share your comments and tell me why you prefer either manga or anime. Which is better? |

comparing manga and anime is like comparing sports tv shows to sports magazenes. they are different aspects of the same culture. |

I like them both. The only thing I like more about manga is that I can get more at the same price of a dvd. Other than that... it's way too hard to choose. |

I like them both. However, other reasons one can list would be: 1. The anime doesn't stay 100% faithful to the manga (this is espeically true of Tenjho Tenge and Magister Negi Magi.) 2. The anime does something different than the manga.

Hei! Don't make overgeneralization! I love BOTH manga and anime! Manga is lovely and wonderful as so anime! They both are wonderful culture! Maybe some manga lovers dislike anime because the anime make different impressions to them than the manga. Well, it happens sometimes. |

Well... Anime itself is not bad but the problems lies in budget IF the anime budget is good then it will turn out great ie. good animation.. good voice actors... good music... and proper length to match the original manga story (im talking about manga to anime transplants here) but if anime didnt have that.. they can distort the original great story that the manga had. The best example? Samurai Deeper Kyo. I loved the Samurai Deeper Kyo manga. i read up to 36 volumes and im only waiting to buy more but one fateful day i downloaded Samurai Deeper Kyo anime. They condensed what was at the time 26 volumes or so worth of anime into 24 episodes or so of anime. Now for all of you manga readers you do know that one manga volume can equal to at least a couple of anime episodes. So the storyline was completely distorted and cheapened. Many other manga to anime transplants arent always that great and that is why many manga readers prefer manga over anime. Another reason is that sometimes when you read the manga first you already had you own idea of what the character sounds likes and talks like but your image could possibly be ruined once you watch the anime. For some odd reason i imagined Kenshin's voice to be super manly but then i watched the anime i was like.... NOOOOOOO. With that said. I still love both of them just as much. If you considered my favourite manga which was... i would have to say Ryuroden and Air my favourite anime... I think that i like Air more than Ryuroden.

i agree that anime and manga, each is good in their own ways. well, ultimately i think everything has its good and not-so-good sides, and, to judge whether a thing is good or not, depends on the individual's perspectives. yes, an anime does have qualities which a manga will not/might not have, just like those which Skinny Chouji mentioned. my views:- 1. i second TUN4L's opinions. the quality of a certain anime depends a lot on budget. and, partly due to the fact that most anime don't really follow the original storyline in the manga (that is, if the anime's based on a manga) for entertainment/creativity reasons, so yeah.. most of the time, to me, the original story's still comparably better than the modified one. 2. i can't afford to buy anime. second-hand manga are cheaper. 3. i can't afford to download anime online all the time (actually, i can't afford to download anything whenever i like). i'll get jailed if i do that. 4. i can read my manga whenever i like since they're comparably more convenient. in the toilet, on vehicles, late at night after waking up from nightmares etc. i can't possibly bring along a DVD player + TV / personal computer / laptop all the time. 5. i prefer colourless & soundless pictures. it leaves me the room to imagine the colour combination & sounds of a certain thing in the manga. there might be more reasons, but i think these will do for now. ja!
