Speed grapher is blo ody awesome! It truly tugs the heart strings, churns the stomach, pumps the adrenaline, and moves the soul with all its dynamics of harsh truths. I watched it up to like ep. 16 before it got licensed, but found it "otherwise" a couple of months later. I would get the dvds too though, its a real sweet anime. The extras they may include would be worthwhile. I just had to finish watching it though, thats why I sought it out...

The Beeble response really does fit my feelings best: **WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS** I really enjoyed Speed Grapher up until a certain point. The beginning was great, but it just sort of tapered off towards the end there into obscurity. The whole thing with the Composer guy was just unneccessary, and Joe and the White Eagles was just corny as all hell, and I knew he was going to betray them right from the word go. I would say that at Episode 18 they just kind of lost it. You have Saiga and Kagura working on a boat, and then they go out to some island where they are taken by people just completely of out nowhere, and it just spiraled on downward from there. Toss in Suitengu's drawn out little flashbacks about his sister and all that other all too sudden plot exposition, and it got kind of silly. Granted, there was still some good stuff in there. This was cool, of course, but then his eyes kind of exploded. And then the whole 5 years later thing was really just sappy. Ok, so he's blind...and he's still a photographer... right...and Ginza and Doc hooked up... right...and Mustache is now the big boss with pink haired secretary in tow with plans of commemorative buildings for the person who caused this massive financial crisis...right... and of course Kagura comes back, why she had to wait 5 years to do it I don't know. |

she waited 5 yrs maybe so saiga doesnt get carted to jail or made guilty cause shes a minor...she was 15yrs.... its a little questionable, espicially here. he had that dilema early on, that shes young... anyways it is kinda sick and twisted... the end was a little out of place, but mostly, it was pretty swell

I searched this forum as I dont want to repeat it again, i am still watching the series and I found it really great! the storyline is unique (destroying others while taking a pic). It has it all, violence, sex, syndicates, business, ecchi, gays & lesbianism, wow! all in one anime! lucky of you you will get the DVD version, but the downloaded Shinsen Sub is ok for me. I almost fell in love with Kagura, she's so kawaii! Saiga is the coolest guy right now for me in an anime. Collection worthy for anime fans... |
