It's very good. I've only seen one episode, but I've wanted it for ages. My desktop image is of Rakka when she was a new haibane, still needing a wire to hold her halo up. ^_^

I've seen it too! Believe it or not, it waa the 1st anime I had ever seen....(some stranger lent it to me *shock at the generosity*) Its so beautiful. the music is a must download...Gendou as a few.....ITS SO AWESOME and touching...and gorgeous.... some people say its dull but dont believe a word of it! I was hanging onto every second of it.... The storyline is simplisitc yet intricate....combines the issue of where does someone go after death? what is reborn? Purpose and self-discovery....sounds better than what I am saying.... MUST WATCH!!! PLEASE EVERYONE!! GO NOW!! |

| It's my favorite anime. And it probably always will be. Haibane Renmei is one of those precious few stories where you might just empathize with the characters and not just sympathize with them. I believe it is also a very personal anime, that came from the creator's own heart. |

Hello, I'm just new here ^_^ I've seen that anime both in japanese and in English dubbed. I like all ABe-sensei works, but I haven't seen Serial Experiments Lain (T^T) ======================================================== |

Haibane Renmei is such an unbelivably beautiful and moving anime. I can't recall how many times I was close to or in tears while watching it. But then I'm just a sap. I love the setting. It is so very peaceful and yet unnervingly mysterious. I also love how quiet it is at times. This really draws you in. The art is just sublime. I'd love to live in a place like Glie. Of course Haibane isn't for everyone. It has no action and fighting. Just lots of heart. It really comes across well when viewing that this was a very personal story for ABe. And I for one am so glad he shared it with us. But anyway, I initially came here to say thanks to that person who uploaded 'Aoi Inori' to Gendou. I've got the Soundtrack and the Image Songs but 'Aoi Inori' wasn't on either of them. So I am curious where it does come from, but that's not too important. Just a huge thanks to whoever uploaded it, is all ^_^

I watched it in 2003 and it was really good!! it was totally different from what i expected. it is a sweet and thoughtful anime which totally captivated me. the music for it is simply beautiful and the animation is excellent! it is one of my favourite anime's!

I didn't really find the ending confusing too much. It's obvious what the Haibane are without exactly stating anything. This, I recon is why maybe it seems a bit weird or confusing at first. Because nothing really gets explained. One has to think about it a bit, but it shouldn't be too hard to grasp.

I LOVE HAIBANE RENMEI. It's probably because i am a sucker for angels and people with wings and sadness. But the anime had a warm/sad feeling to it so i liked it.

| I love Haibane Renmei because I never knew angels would smoke. But that would only be Reki. Reki is my favorite character in the series. The art is drawn beautifully and I am a fan of the artist. Yoshitoshi Abe. A recommended anime. |
