Protest YouTube's policy on anime!
Link | by jimbob123432 on 2007-06-22 10:30:50
I recently saw this on a Devil May Cry comment board on YouTube:
STOP YOUTUBE!!! For your information, Youtube is getting rid of all Anime videos.Every night at 10:00p.m. they have a maintenence that deletes any videos that are Anime...To stop Youtube from doing this, You need to get enough people to Protest...To do this, please help by Copying and Pasting this message to all of the Videos from being deleted

I checked up on this, and according to all my souces (about 95% reliable) this is true.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is pruely for people's information. Please do not flame YouTube on this post, do it on your own and see what happens. If you have a problem with this, please tell YouTube, not Gendou-sama because he will get pissed at me (probably)!

It doesn't matter how many people protest, Google owns the website. A worldwide multi-billion dollar website is not going to care about a protest to stop the deletion of Anime. Spamming the comment boxes with that is especially useless since chain comments of any sort are an annoyance that people usually ignore.

Grow up. YouTube has ALWAYS had a policy of deleting and prohibiting the upload of COPYRIGHTED content. Chopping the advertisements out of anime episodes and distributing them for free is unavoidably THEFT, petty as it is, from the advertisers.

I have no idea why anyone would WANT YouTube to allow copyright violations to take place, because it would be only a matter of time before them being sued into oblivion and forced to shut down.

The same fate awaits gendou.com, I'm sure, although it would be less bloody because of the relatively small size of this website in the grand scheme of things. Still.

Why would you watch anime on YouTube anyways?
It's much easier to buy the anime, or dL the episodes online.
Or, just use another site because YouTube's "order" on anime is really screwy and too unorganized for me.

I agree with DA. Also, I don't like watching anime on Youtube anymore because of the quality! There are other good site where you can find your anime. Gendou being a good example. Or if you're really that desperate, use torrents.

Licensed anime should be deleted. The problem with youtube is it deletes anything with clips of anime. Such as Yugioh the abridged series or AMVs. Seriously that not copyrighted. It is parody. It should be fine as long as they site and give credit to the appropriate sources.

Whatever, youtube can do whatever it wants. I went to liveleak anyways because youtube smells.

What's the big deal? YouTube videos are really crappy, I don't see the loss, especially when there's Bit Torrent. I couldn't care less, to be honest.

Why protest to something that was a logical move? If Youtube didnt remove copyrighted materials they would get sued for it

I used to watch anime on YouTube, but now I only watch AMVs and parodies there. I'd rather download torrents, watch anime on TV, or buy anime CDs/DVDs.

Using youtube is good, if you want to see if an anime is right for you. Other then get it by other means.

like some have said, its about the liscensing issue. If an anime is not liscensed then it should be still available at youtube.

Either way, the petition would not work since google would be the ones facing lawsuits and not the users. Therefore they have the right to delete these animes.

LMAO, YouTube's anime is so enjoyable that I could really throw up...

Life sucks. Whoever gives up living because of that, sucks. But without anime I would ...XD
