yey! weekly shounen jump has just released the new death note one shot and raws of it surfaced moments ago! i hope a fast scanlation will be released soon too. since the ending of the manga left many questions unanswered, i'm excited to see what's the world like after kira/light died. the story will continue as to where the manga ended. the title of this one-shot is 'L changed the world'. i wonder what it signifies.... Story will be by Tsugumi Ohba and drawn by Takeshi Obata. <--- the cover |

Not really something to look forward to. It feels like an OVA of an anime... A continuation, sure, but nothing that important involving the storyline. It simply shows us that L is a mad genius and humans are trashes with many loose screws in their heads. |

I guess my thoughts is as same as Sai's. Argh, of such OmFG excitement in me when I heard this sequel, then read the scanlation--- gyargh, it's worth reading, I guess. But not as thrilling as I thought. I don't like seeing Near as 'L'... he's really unique in any way. Well, at least, Ryuk made a great witty performance. |

Heheh, as long as there's no one as strong willed as light, any sequel would be a joke... |

I never watched the movie versions of Death Note. Not because of I don't bother to watch, I fear the change of story plots! Like you mentioned that L died from an mysterious illness (is death by diabetes not that realistic enough??? o_0;; lols jk) instead of his name got written down by a shinigami Rem. I rather watch the anime to get the authencity of the story (okay, I do agree that reading Death Note manga is way better). |
Re: Death Note manga: One shot [feb 9 release!]

As far as i know the anime follows the manga precisely... All until the end of kira's life. And even more awesome with the sweet animation! I haven't watched 'till the last episode though But the live action movie sucks |

Yeah, the anime version does follow the story from the Death Note manga... but there are few plots within the anime that wasn't shown on tv. Because of that, there was Episode 28 aka Death Note: Director's Cut! Worth the watch. I won't watch the movie versions! Never! I've seen the trailer for L: Change The World (aka Death Note 3)... I don't like it. Oh yeah, the scanlation for the latest Death Note manga: There were a bit typos >_< The art is still beautiful ^_^ |

ILLNESS !!?? NO !! It in the movie version.. L died because he wrote his name in the DEATH NOTE.. He wrote that he will die in a few days later.. By doing so.. even though L having an accident, stabbed by a knife or his name got written on Kira's DEATH NOTE.. L will not die !!! Dood.. L sacrifice his own life to capture Kira.. |

@eL- Oh yeah, definitely! L rocks. ^^ I've been wondering though these days... do you think Near saw the motive of capturing Light as a part of competition? Light took L's position and possessed the L name once the real L died. Then Near appeared in the later story, he once said Light will never be L, no matter what. Yeah, that's true... but oddly enough, once Light died, Near became the 'new' L. Near always wished of being L. But Near is Near -_- He can't be L... Aah... no wonder the title said "L: Changed the world". I guess what this manga was trying to imply that L is the ultimate God--- Does not matter if it's the real L, Light or Near, or even the future hopefuls--- Sounds too illogical? @Tocatta- I would say it's a minor manga... second manga should be at least have few volumes... I don't know. ^^ Read it, it's only one volume. >_< Worth the read... |
